WCTI are passionate about supporting children on our island and have developed a new qualification in conjunction with our experienced child counsellors on our training team, to help make this happen. This child counselling qualification is aimed at aspiring child counsellors, parents, teachers, play workers, social workers and youth works. The child counselling training will equip you to work therapeutically with children on a wide range of issues, learning to make a lasting difference to children who need it. WCTI's Child counselling qualification covers aspects such as working creatively ( art,sandtray,music), Safeguarding, Counselling skills, child development and child mental health. The training will explore working with 5-16 year olds.

The training comprises of group work, discussions, reading, skills sessions and more formal teaching.

This Training will run from October 2025- June 2026 and take place every other Monday evening 6.30pm-9pm

There will be a written portfolio submitted as part of the assessment to evidence your learning.

The course combines theory and practice skills in child counselling.

All applicants most complete an application form and attend an interview for suitability

Some previous experience in working with children, informally or formally, is required.

Cost: £795 ( can be paid in installments)
